Description

Well, here she is! Devil’s Heart! Murder by the Devil and Heartbloom’s foal! I am so excited. :D I got a free breeding from one of *ShannonSuicide’s horses from placing 3rd in one of *ShannonSuicide’s mini event shows. :)
I had so much fun drawing this especially with my new tablet and photoshop. I am still so excited about that. I decided not to do any shading on this because…well, I guess I didn’t feel like it. :giggle: But I plan on drawing several more pictures of this little filly! And yes, I know that she is fat. She’s supposed to be like that. :XD:

Story time! This one isn’t too long. =P
-----------------------------

Devil’s Heart was born early one morning on January 10th. Her birth was quick, and without any difficulties. Devil’s Heart was a perfectly healthy black sabino filly. She was eager to drink her mother’s milk and was soon romping around in the fields at her mother’s side. She was fun to watch. The chestnut mare, Murder by the Devil, would canter around and around the fields, always shadowed by the little black filly. The filly did anything that her mother did. When her mother bucked, so did Devils Heart. When her mother stopped, turned around, and cantered off, Devil’s Heart was sure to be seen stopping, turning around, and cantering after her mother. They moved in perfect harmony around the field.

Maria Sherman sighed and rubbed her eyes. She needed a rest from sitting in the chair, staring at the computer screen, browsing through show possibilities for the horses. She got up from the chair, stretched, and walked to the door. Even though it was January, there was no snow outside. The ground was bare. There had been some snow, earlier, but it had soon melted. Maria pulled on her winter coat, even though she hardly needed it, it was so warm outside. She headed quickly through the barn and outside into the fresh air. Perhaps that new foal would cheer her up. She began walking over to the pasture where the filly was. The brisk walk cheered her up and by the time she reached the new foal’s pasture, she felt refreshed. There in the pasture, among the muddy grass, was the little filly. Maria looked around and saw somebody standing at the fence. It was Caroline Tobias. Maria hurried over to her.

“She’s a nice filly,” Maria called, announcing her arrival. Caroline jumped, then relaxed again and leaned against the fence.

“She is, isn’t she?” Caroline agreed. Maria leaned against the fence beside her friend, looking out at the horses.

“Did the vet say she’s healthy?” Maria asked, hoping for a positive answer.

“Well, the vet said she’s almost perfectly healthy…” Caroline paused.

“What’s wrong with her?” Maria asked anxiously.

“She’s too fat,” Caroline laughed. “I guess Murder by the Devil is taking good care of her!”

Maria laughed as well. “She is awfully round in the stomach.”

Caroline turned around. “Well, I’d better go, I can’t stay watching this pretty picture forever, can I?”

“No, I suppose not.” Maria turned away from the pasture. “I suppose I’ll leave that filly be…I have to get to work now, anyway.”

I'm so happy to see the finished vesion of this picture! I already told you what a great job you did on the anatomy (Haha, I seem to be saying that about every picture you draw. Well, it's true, so...), and she looks even better with that pretty colouring! I love drawing the pale fur on young horses, and she looks so pretty with those silver patches beneath her white markings. Her good looks can make up for her extra weight.
